I am excited to share several free books that address a topic we rarely discuss: elder bullying. This form of abuse is often overlooked, yet it affects many older adults in private and public settings. I hope Peter A. Sacco’s books and projects inspire awareness and action.
Meet Peter A. Sacco
Peter A. Sacco is an accomplished writer and award-winning executive producer with a diverse career that includes scripting TV commercials and projects for motion picture companies. He has collaborated with Academy Award winner Joe Mayer and wrote the commercial “Vices,” which premiered at the Boston Film Festival. Committed to ending bullying and relationship violence, Peter teamed up with actor/director Mitch Markowitz to create a public service announcement focused on bullying.
Peter’s newest children’s book, Gummer: The Last Toothless Vampire (DoctorZed Publishing), is a warm, adventurous story well suited for holiday giving. The tale follows James Reed, a foster child who has been bullied throughout his young life. James meets Ted, a vampire who lost his fangs after being bitten while living on the harsh city streets. When the vampire that bit Ted is destroyed, Ted remains as the last of his kind—and without fangs. Together, James and his unlikely friend set out on a journey to find James’s mother. The book explores themes of friendship, belonging, resilience, and the healing power of compassion, making it an engaging read for children and parents alike.
Bullying Is Not Reserved for Children
Bullying affects people of all ages and appears in many settings: online, at work, in the home, and within the senior community. Seniors often endure quiet, hidden forms of abuse—neglect, intimidation, or emotional and financial exploitation—that many people do not recognize as bullying. To raise awareness of this issue, Peter Sacco has written two new books specifically addressing elder abuse and adult bullying.
Bullying in Seniors: The Maltreatment of Elders examines the patterns and consequences of abuse that target older adults, providing clear explanations and raising awareness so family members, caregivers, and professionals are better equipped to intervene. Bullying for Adults: Big Fish in a Small Pond outlines different types of bullies, explains factors that contribute to bullying behavior, and describes how bullying manifests in personal and professional relationships. It covers abusive and dominating behaviors, identifies who may be at risk, and offers practical advice to help people avoid becoming victims.
Peter is offering these two senior-bullying eBooks at no charge to encourage readers to learn about and address elder abuse. You can download these free resources and an additional book via this page. These materials are intended to inform caregivers, older adults, professionals, and anyone working to prevent mistreatment of vulnerable people.
Online and social-media bullying—cyberbullying—has grown into a major concern for both children and adults. The emotional toll from persistent harassment can produce long-lasting mental health effects, including anxiety, depression, and social withdrawal. Peter Sacco is a vocal advocate for preventing relationship violence and promoting mental health and safety across all age groups.
