About the Job

We are building an exceptional online MCAT course and seek a skilled MCAT instructor to lead curriculum development. In this role you will design a coherent, evidence-based curriculum; produce instructional videos and study materials; author and review MCAT-style questions; and develop resources that help students build strategy and confidence. You will also act as the public-facing MCAT expert for Magoosh, contributing to content marketing efforts such as blog posts, videos, and podcasts.

This is a full-time, in-office position based in Berkeley, CA.

In this position, you will…

Design a comprehensive online MCAT curriculum that guides students from foundational review to advanced problem solving
Script, record, and produce lesson videos that are clear, accurate, and engaging for diverse learners
Write, edit, and test realistic MCAT-style questions and detailed answer explanations
Manage partnerships and licensing relationships with organizations such as the AAMC and other MCAT content providers
Create marketing and educational content — including blog posts, strategy guides, and short videos — to support student acquisition and retention
Collaborate with product, engineering, and design teams to ensure content integrates smoothly into our learning platform
Serve as the internal MCAT subject-matter expert, advising cross-functional teams on content accuracy, pedagogy, and student needs
Coordinate and oversee freelance content creators or contractors as needed to scale production

You…

Are passionate about teaching and have several years of experience tutoring or instructing, preferably with college-level science or test-prep backgrounds
Possess a deep, practical understanding of the MCAT exam: the content it assesses, common question formats, and test-taking strategies
Bring strong pedagogical insight and an ability to identify and address common student misconceptions
Have achieved top-percentile MCAT score(s) and can translate your mastery into effective teaching
Hold a BA or BS; an MD or other advanced degree is a plus
Are detail-oriented, organized, and committed to producing high-quality instructional materials
Write and communicate clearly, with the ability to explain complex concepts in plain language

Extra credit if you…

Have experience developing content or teaching for other standardized exams such as the GRE or GMAT
Have classroom teaching experience or a background in formal education settings
