ED News Daily Opens Pay It Forward Digital Media Opportunity

Thank you to everyone who visits this site—our readers, contributing writers, and supporters who share our work. Over the past year we have experienced rapid growth, and our research shows that together we can make a meaningful difference. As web designers and content marketers who focus on education and the nonprofit sector, we’ve seen many opportunities for visibility and impact pass by. To help address that, we are launching the Pay It Forward Digital Media Initiative.

What is the Pay It Forward Digital Media Initiative?

The Pay It Forward Digital Media Initiative is a volunteer-driven outreach and content-sharing program designed to increase digital media exposure for organizations and individuals working in K–12 education, higher education, EdTech, STEM, nonprofits, career development, and related fields. Our goal is to amplify important voices and stories that promote education, workforce readiness, and social good by publishing and sharing high-quality articles across our site and social networks.

How the initiative works

Submissions follow a simple editorial process. Contributors submit articles according to the provided guidelines and the editor reviews each submission for clarity, relevance, and alignment with our focus areas. Once approved, articles are scheduled for publication on the site and promoted through our social media channels.

We prioritize content that informs, inspires, or supports educators, students, nonprofit leaders, job-seeking graduates, and organizations looking to hire teachers or build community impact. Story formats that work well include case studies, practical how-to guides, commentary on trends, program announcements, success stories, and resource roundups.

How contributors “pay it forward”

After your article is published, we ask that you amplify someone else’s work as part of the community commitment. Specifically, please choose one article previously published on our site (within the last two months) and share it across your social media networks. This mutual support model helps extend reach for all contributors and creates a stronger network of shared audience attention.

Topics we are seeking

We welcome submissions from the following areas:

  • K–12 education
  • Higher education
  • EdTech and educational innovation
  • STEM education and workforce development
  • Small education startups and entrepreneurial projects
  • Career advice and job search strategies for recent graduates
  • Companies actively recruiting teachers and education professionals
  • Nonprofit organizations and community initiatives
  • Stories of social good and community impact
  • Media and PR announcements relevant to the fields above

Compensation and contributor benefits

At this time the initiative does not offer monetary compensation. The value for contributors comes from exposure, community support, and the opportunity to link back to your organization or personal site. Published posts may include a short author bio and relevant links, allowing readers to learn more about your work and mission.

Current status and next steps

We are currently collecting expressions of interest and building a pipeline of potential contributors. The initiative is in the organizing phase: we are monitoring engagement, finalizing submission guidelines, and preparing our editorial calendar. Once the program is ready to launch, registered contributors and interested parties will receive a notification with full details on how to submit and participate.

How to get involved

If you represent an educational program, nonprofit, startup, or an individual with experience or insights to share in our focus areas, we encourage you to prepare a submission that follows our editorial guidelines. When your article is accepted, commit to sharing another contributor’s article after publication as part of our Pay It Forward approach.

We appreciate your interest and support. By collaborating and amplifying one another, we can strengthen the visibility of important education and social good initiatives and help connect people with the resources and opportunities they need.
