The 2021 EduJedi Seminars for K-12: Equipping School Leaders with the Technology Skills and Insight to Meet Today’s Educational Challenges
EdisonLearning, a long-established provider of digital learning solutions focused on narrowing socioeconomic gaps in public education, has joined forces with the Learning Counsel, a leading research institute that provides context for the shift to digital K-12 curriculum. Together they are offering a series of technology-centered seminars for district and school administrators. The 22-session 2021 EduJedi Seminars will be held between August 9 and October 29, 2021. Their goal is to inspire education leaders to adopt innovations that better support students of every background, ability, and need in the wake of the pandemic.
“Many schools are still hoping to return to the pre-pandemic ‘normal,’” said Leilani Cauthen, CEO of the Learning Counsel. “But the realities of culture, economy, and educational technology have changed dramatically. The Learning Counsel and other trend-watchers are urging leaders to face those changes now, not later.”
Titled “Foundations of K-12 Re-imagination,” the 2021 EduJedi Seminars consist of 22 interactive sessions delivered by administrators who are members of the EduJedi Leadership Society — a network of more than 400 school and district leaders committed to “transformative relevance.” EduJedi members focus on implementing effective digital learning technologies, aligning people and resources around student-centered, personalized learning, and applying empathy and human-centered practices to support learners. The series is open to all educators and administrators, including those not yet part of the EduJedi Society.
“By combining our decades of experience in digital and personalized learning with the Learning Counsel’s research and context, we can help districts address the disparities the pandemic exposed,” said Thom Jackson, President & CEO of EdisonLearning. The increased reliance on remote and hybrid learning has highlighted inequities in access to high-quality digital education across socioeconomic and demographic lines.
Dr. Wendy Oliver, Chief Learning Officer at EdisonLearning, added: “Post-pandemic classroom teachers will face layered challenges in differentiated instruction. Thoughtful digital and personalized learning strategies can help solve these challenges by creating consistent, scalable systems that make digital learning efficient, effective, and sustainable for all students.”
The EduJedi Seminars are designed to expand leaders’ and teachers’ perspectives on the structural and practical changes needed for meaningful digital transformation. Sessions emphasize strategic investment in technology, strong processes for implementation, and the human-centered practices that sustain long-term improvement.
Session topics include, but are not limited to:
- Eight New Models of Schooling: understanding which model best fits your district’s mission and community
- What You Don’t Know About Software Can Hurt Your School: procurement, integration, and pedagogy considerations
- Foundational EdTech Leadership: differentiating basic knowledge from advanced strategic skills
- Administrative Digital Learning Experience Standards: designing digital pathways that support operational and instructional goals
- Teacher Digital Learning Experience Standards: a practical mix of digital design elements for consistent classroom experiences
This convening comes at a critical moment. Schools and districts are reassessing technology needs after pandemic disruptions, and federal funding under the CARES Act and similar relief measures has created opportunities to invest in long-term improvements. Leaders who want to participate can find more information and register through the Learning Counsel’s event pages.
