FSI Global Online School Hiring Online Teachers: Apply Now

Are you interested in teaching using principles from one of the world’s most respected education systems—Finland’s?

Finnish Schools International (FSI) is launching FSI Global Online School (FSI GO), a new global online school that brings Finnish-inspired education to students worldwide. FSI GO is recruiting innovative teachers to join a Founding Teachers Program where educators can help design and teach courses, collaborate on curriculum development, and even become part-owners of the school.

FSI GO’s curriculum emphasizes a set of transversal competencies designed to prepare students for life, work, and responsible citizenship. These competencies include:

  • Thinking and learning to learn — developing metacognitive skills and curiosity that support lifelong learning.
  • Self-care and social responsibility — promoting personal wellbeing, safety, and a culture of mutual care.
  • Cultural competence — building awareness and respect for diverse cultures and perspectives.
  • Learning to build a sustainable future — equipping students with knowledge and values for sustainability and environmental stewardship.
  • Multi-literacy — strengthening literacy across languages, media, and disciplines.
  • Entrepreneurship — fostering creativity, initiative, and problem-solving for real-world contexts.
  • ICT competence — integrating digital skills and responsible use of technology.

FSI GO aims to deliver world-class learning at an accessible price point. To make the program inclusive, the school offers a three-tier pricing model based on GDP per capita so families from different regions can afford high-quality education.

As part of the Founding Teachers Program, the parent organization Finnish Schools International is offering attractive opportunities to early joining educators. Teachers and administrators accepted into the program this year will be offered a share of the school’s equity. FSI has already recruited highly regarded educators, including finalists and winners of national and international teaching awards.

Founder and CEO Alejtin Berisha explains that giving teachers leadership role—enabling them to design curriculum, lead courses, and participate in ownership—will enrich the student experience and help build a truly collaborative, teacher-driven online school.

Key points for prospective applicants:

  • Participation initially can be part-time; applicants do not need to resign from their current positions.
  • Teachers from all countries and time zones are encouraged to apply.
  • Applications for the Founding Teachers Program should be submitted by August 31st via the application link cited in the program announcement.

About FSI Global Online School

FSI Global Online School combines a curriculum inspired by the Finnish education model with experienced educators from around the world. The emphasis is on student-centered, creative, and rigorous learning guided by skilled teachers. The school’s inclusive pricing and global reach are intended to make high-quality education available to a diverse international student body.

Over the coming years, FSI GO plans to develop a hybrid global education model that is localized for different countries. This hybrid approach includes “co-creation hubs” or “learning pods” where students can meet locally to collaborate, socialize, and receive support from local tutors and coaches, while continuing to learn online with international teachers. The hybrid model aims to balance the benefits of in-person peer interaction with the academic strengths of world-class remote instruction. The organization plans to establish hubs in major cities as the program grows.
